Director's Notes |
|
Ladies, kindly remove your hats .. .
What you are about to see is a 1920s musical written in the 1950s. It is not a satire. It is not a spoof. It is a three act boy meets girl, boy loses girl, boy gets girl on the last page 1920s musical. A tribute to a lost era in the vast history of musical comedy.
I wish to thank all the cast and crew. My producers, Sherman Wayne and Martha Hunter. My musical director, Anoush NeVart. And a very special thank you to my choreographer, Victoria Miller. 1 directed, and Vicki choreographed this very show here seventeen years ago. She has choreographed every musical I've directed. It has been a twenty-year creative collaboration, which is pretty rare in this business.
Thank you, Vicki. If people broke into song and dance in everyday life, they would be dancing to your choreography.
So Ladies and Gentleman, on with the show . . . Just follow the bouncing ball, and say those magic words . . . BOOP BOOPADOOP !
—Lewis Hauser
